Inner Parent

Program

Introduction

You want to excel at work, be fully present for your children, and somehow meet the endless expectations society places on you—but it’s exhausting. Some days, it feels like no matter how hard you try, you’re just barely holding it all together. You’re not alone. Parenting today can feel overwhelming, leaving even the most loving and dedicated parents wondering if they’re doing enough or if they’re doing it right.

That’s where the Inner Parent© Program comes in. It’s not about perfection or following a rigid formula—it’s about finding your own path as a parent, one that feels authentic and grounded in your values. Through practical tools and thoughtful guidance, the program helps you move from reacting to life’s challenges to parenting with intention and purpose. It’s an opportunity to create deeper connections with your children, embrace the moments that matter, and feel more confident in the choices you make every day.

What is the Inner Parent Program?

The Inner Parent Program is a coaching method I developed using techniques from my Co-Active Coaching training, my experience as a parenting writer and as a mother.

Inner Parent© believes that everyone has what it takes to be the best parent they can be, on their own terms. It is not a parenting philosophy that tells you what to do, what is right and what is wrong. You are the one who has the answers to finding the best way to raise your children. It is about moving from being a reactive parent to being a conscious, proactive and intentional parent.

Guided by me and using a variety of techniques, by the end of this program you will:

  • Have clarity about the most important skills for you as a parent.

  • Identify the key values you want your children to learn from you.

  • Define what it means to connect with your child(ren) and how to create memories they will cherish for years to come.

  • Have a list of your non-negotiables in parenting.

  • Have an inner parenting purpose statement

Why me?

As a mom, a woman with a career and dreams, and a balanced yet busy life that includes sports, social life, and hobbies, I often found myself stuck in a reactive mode of parenting. Until the moment I realized how much time and energy I was devoting to planning my career compared to how I was raising my children.

That's when I decided to take time to reflect on my parenting, using many of the tools I would use to organize my work and from my coaching training: values, communication rules, strategic plans, goals, etc. With conscious choice and intention, my parenting became more purposeful and the daily struggles became easier to navigate once I knew where I was going as a parent.

Seeing my friends around me struggling with the same challenges, I thought I could not only improve my own life as a parent, but also share these tools with others. That's how the Inner Parent Program was born.

“My time with Caro has ignited a new energy within me to be a more present and more conscious parent. Through the mist of the last 8 years I had allowed myself to get lost within the frenetic buzz of daily life and had relied on muscle memory to see me through the day as a parent. I felt unfulfilled, exhausted and like I was falling short as a parent as a result. Caro helped me to reconnect with my values, and explore how I could better connect with them as a parent, in ways that felt authentic to me and my family. Caro used her many skills to help me connect with myself as an individual, within my role as a mum, and as part of the bigger ecosystem of my broader friends and family. She helped me to identify areas of life that needed to be simplified, amplified or reappraised and therefore helped me to see new pathways forward. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my adventure as a mum, as a wife and as an individual.”

“Being coached by Carol brought intentionality to my parenting. It's interesting how we are so used to planning and envisioning for pretty much everything else in our lives, but believe that parenting should happen instinctively. Her framework was super helpful to organize my busy thoughts, and the fact we had meetings and "homework" made it easy to dedicate time to it, something I would just postpone forever if I were to do it on my own. Carol is empathic, creative and so much fun to work with, and the conversation just flows.”

How does it work?

The program is completed through a cycle of 5 sessions, which can be weekly or bi-weekly. In between sessions you will have some homework to do (no more than 30 minutes per week). This is the basic structure, although I will adapt to individual needs:

Session 01: Wheel of Parenting

Together we will explore the "Wheel of Parenting", a diagram of the key skills of a parent. We will discuss each of these and what they represent for you in your reality. We will then explore how you see yourself there and where you want to be - along with a road map to your final destination. This first session is a little longer than the others because we are discovering you as a parent so that we can work together with a solid foundation in the next session. 90 minutes.

Session 02: Values

This session is about values. We will do a visualization exercise that will help us identify a core value that you want to pass on to your child. Once identified, we will brainstorm how this value will play out in your daily life with your child and how you can proactively implement it.

Session 03: Connection and Fun

This is the time to explore connection and fun. Through various exercises we will understand what it means for you and your child to connect and have fun - and how to somehow find a place where you both really enjoy these moments. In this session we will also look at creating traditions and memories - the things your child(ren) will remember when they look back on their time with you : )

Session 04: Non-Negotiables

In this session we will revisit the main areas of parenting that we explored in the first three sessions and together we will define your non-negotiables in each area. What are the things that are not up for discussion in your parenting area? How clear are they to your child(ren)? How can we communicate with them effectively

Session 05: Parenting Purpose Statement

In our final session we will define your Inner Parenting Purpose Statement, reviewing everything we have been through together on this journey and opening the space for questions and key reflections.
